The problem is, i have a month to decide what to cook and i want to do a practice run just so i know it tastes good. this is the first time i will have cooked properly for him.

I want to do a starter and a main meal, no desert.

He likes most things chicken, an example of a meal he likes is chicken wrapped in bacon with cheese melted on it, or just different spicy sauces with chicken.
but i dont know what to put on the side of these meals.

He isnt too experimental with different veggies.

I have no idea what starter to make, but i dont want to just buy meals and cook them, i want to actually make them for him.

Any ideas would be great.

Do you grill? You could both be involved in cooking this…marinate some chicken to grill with grilled vegetables, like onions, zucchini, asparagus, etc. and how about grilling some peach halves to serve with ice cream and birthday cake (not grilled of course).

Conscious Cycle Figment ….. (Follow Link Below to Time-Lapse Video)

Conscious Cycle was created in 2007 by Sinton Vignos and Lou Auguste. Together they wanted to create a place where they could bring their artist and musician friends together with the purpose of building a community and raising environmental awareness. This first cycle took place in a rented space at Stay Gold Art Gallery which was located at 451 Grand, therefore we called it Conscious Cycle 451.

A little over a year later we were asked by the Figment festival to recreate our project outside on Governor’s Island. This would be the first time we moved the project out of the gallery setting into the great outdoors.

To create our canvas we collected wood from garbage piles on the streets of Brooklyn. Our desire to create a light canvas led us to use the bottoms of dresser drawers as the surface while the frame itself was made from discarded pieces of plywood and the rest of the dresser itself.

We called up everyone we knew and invited them out to Governor’s Island for the weekend and we had a terrific response. This time-lapse shows the process that is Conscious Cycle over 3 days.

At various times it rained during the weekend, but people continued to paint even as the rain washed the paint off the wall. We had so much fun, thank you to everyone who came out to paint, spin, dance, or just hang out. We look forward to the next festival and thank you to Figment.

I want to start a website with huge database of recipes. Can i copy the recipes from various books and other websites and make slight changes in the method of preparation? Will this result in copyright violation. I have read the copyright law about recipe. It only states that the expression of the author cannot be copied. Can i copy the ingredients as it is and make slight changes only in the method by expressing in my own words similar to their expression? (or)
Is it is safe to use the phrase “taken from” or “adapted from” on the recipes and make the same slight changes.

This is what I found

“A mere listing of ingredients is not protected under copyright law. However, where a recipe or formula is accompanied by substantial literary expression in the form of an explanation or directions, or when there is a collection of recipes as in a cookbook, there may be a basis for copyright protection.”.

So…I think you are ok getting recipes off the web. Just remove the authors expression and change the preparation around.
